Beach Day – 20 Minute Mini-Workout

In San Diego, it doesn’t get much better than spending a beautiful day at the beach. But grabbing a good spot in the sand (not to mention finding a parking spot!) often means getting there early, before you’ve had a chance to exercise. Here’s a great way to break a sweat and get in a great little workout, all within sight of that oversized beach towel you’ll be spending the rest of the day on!

Start with a 15 minute jog in the firm sand along the surf. Follow up with 35 crunches and 25 push ups, modifying each exercise if required and taking as much time as needed to complete all repetitions. Do not rest between sets. If you’re in the mood for more of a challenge, repeat the entire cycle once or twice to turn this into a fat-burning 40 or 60 minute workout.

When you’re done, every minute you spend on that beach towel will feel even more relaxing knowing you’ve already got your workout in!
